What a FIASCO!
I have to tell what a crazy, awful day we had yesterday. It was the last competition for Megan of the season and the first one Jared was going to see. Saturday, Megan had a sore throat and fever... same thing as my husband and son. They were ok with tylenol so I was sure Megan would be fine going to the competition. Sunday morning we got up and ready and were in the truck to go at 8:30. We were nice and early, time to have lunch before the competition. We got to the loop, about 6 minutes away from our house and Jared says, Did I shut the garage? I tried to hold back frustration when I said, how the crap am I supposed to know!? So we turned around. Got home... the garage is safely shut. OK, let's try this again. We turn around and head off to Dallas. We get to the loop. Megan cries out, I am going to throw up! Chaos erupts immediatly. I start yelling at Jared to open the door FAST! We were at a red light and to heck with the people around us! She already has saliva running out of her mouth. He throws me a baseball cap and tells me to have her puke in that. WHAT??? Well, during our fight I look at her and she puts her hands over her mouth and vomits. It came out so forcefully that it sprayed out every where and back on her face. I start gagging. In between gags I yell at my husband to pull the freak over. Megan is still throwing up. Now it is all over the seat, her lap, the door, the floor, her book... everywhere. She isn't done. He finally manages to get into the parking lot of a resaurant. She gets out ant throws up in the parking lot. I start laughing. I don't know why. I just looked at the truck and I was so glad it was Jared's company truck and not my van. Then I gag. The smell is awful. Jared uses all the wetwipes I have and tries to clean the vomit. I tell him it is useless to try to clean the seat because Megan had it all over her legs and butt. He throws the wet wipes on the ground. (Sorry Johnny Carino's... love your nachos!) Megan looks at me and says, I feel much better now! I want to go to the competition! Yeah right! Well, she convinced me. We head back home and I helped her bathe and change clothes while Jared cleans the truck. I try to get him to let us take the van, but he insists on taking to truck for the free gas. We didn't have anything to neutralize the vomit so we couldn't completely get the smell out, but it wasn't too too bad. I wasn't happy though. I would have gladly paid the $25 for the gas to get away from vomit. So anyway, we leave the house again. Now with a bucket just in case. It is now 10:00. We barely have enough time to get there now. We drive and miraculously make it past the intersection at the loop. We got to Lindale, about 20 minutes away, and we got out to get a drink at the gas station. Megan says, we better hurry in case I have to throw up. I look at her. She doesn't look her best. I ask her if she feels good still and she says she feels alittle sick. I ask her if she wants to go home. yes. crap. I was feeling a little sick from the smell, too. So we march back to the van and I tell Jared to take us home. I start pouting. I am getting so mad. I have to blame someone, something. I choose Jared. If he would have only listened to me and taken the van we would have made it to the competition. I am sure of it. I tried to calm down, but I was sooooo disappointed. It was the last competition of the season. She already missed the first one because of her broken arm! UGH! Oh well. I got over it. When we got home, she was running around and playing. I asked her if she could just act sick, lay around, moan, something! She said she felt fine. Dang. What a waste. Meanwhile, we are all outside and Ethan is playing with a toy and Christian starts fighting him for it. He seriously screams at decibals that will shatter glass. I grabbed him and put him in the house. He stands there and screams and screams and screams. I go inside. More puke. He threw up all over the door. Is he sick too? Or did he cry himself to vomiting? Guess it was the latter. He was fine all day. That is the end of the story and it wasn't even noon by then. I took a nap. A long nap. Then I had a Dr Pepper at about 9pm and I couldn't go to sleep that night. I played on webkinz until they kicked me off at 1 am. Then I got on toysrus.com and made my wishlists for my kids. I was done at about 3 am and I was so excited I hopped into bed and woke Jared up and told him about all the cool stuff I found. We talked for about an hour and he was done. I was still wired. I think the last time I looked at the clock it was 5:30 am. I got up at 6:45. I am tired...... That was a long story. I am glad it is over and I can't wait to go to bed tonight!

my first tag....
Thanks Valerie! I hope I can think of something interesting....
1. The player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves - try to find 6 you haven't already posted about!
2. At the end of the post, the player tags 6 people and posts their names, and then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog for the rules.
Six things about me....
1. I have anxiety, I think. Everyone always tells me that I handle things really well and I am really put together. Well, you don't see me behind closed doors. Ask my husband and my kids... I am a wreck. I stress, I cry, and I freak out. But when it comes to getting whatever I have to do done, I put on a happy face and I get through it.
2. One of my favorite things is coffee. And I know, I am LDS, I can't drink coffee. But let me tell you, I love it. So instead of drinking it, I buy candles with that scent. I walk slowly through the coffee aisle at the store and smell it. When anyone in my family comes to visit, they always make coffee in the morning and I love waking up to that scent. Occasionally I sneak in some coffee ice cream at marble slab. shhhhhhhhhhh! I have just heard about postum, and I may have to give that a try.....
3. My favorite thing to watch on tv is court tv... forensic files, body of evidence. and I love disorderly conduct. I love cops and I have a lot of respect for what they do. Oh ya, and I LOVE BBC America. If you want to watch a seriously funny show... watch My Family.
4. My favorite books to read are JUNIE B JONES books. I can't get enough of that girl.
5. I crochet. I am pretty dang good at it, too. I made my daughter's blessing gown and it is my favorite thing I crocheted. I am working on our Christmas stockings. Maybe I will get them done this year.
6. Crazy accidents I have been in... When I was about 8 and my sister was 3, she kept trying to get in my room. I finally shoved her out and slammed my door. Her finger was in the door. It broke in 2 places and her nail came off. The whole way to the ER my mom yelled at me and I remember her saying, "It is her wedding ring finger, it is mangled, look what you did!" If you know anything about my sister, that statement is a little funny. And, her finger is fine. Next story... When I was 16, I was driving to pick my sisters up from school for my mom and I turned right from one street to get on another and I hit a boy on a bike. He was in high school, but maybe a freshman. He rolled over my hood, fell on the ground, jumped up quick and looked at me. I was in shock! I asked if he was ok and he said yes. I started to drive away and had to pull over to cry. It freaked me out. I was a little shaken up at dance practice that afternoon. It turned out to be one of my sister's friends.
That is all I can think of. Now I have to tag 6 people and I don't think I even have 6 people to tag. Let's see.... Amy, Audrey, Cindy, Lorren, yep that is it. Have fun!

halloween!!!
Our first real family pumpkin carving! It was fun taking turns scooping out the guts and cutting out the design. Afterwards we toasted the pumpkin seeds and had them for a treat. They tasted like popcorn. It was really fun.
We had a Halloween party at megan's school. At the end of the party we used toilet paper to wrap a volunteer mom and the teacher like a mummy. This pic is the mom...
This is Megan's teacher. It was a blast and a really fun party. Glad it is over!
We went to the Halloween party at the church. It was awesome. There were too many people inside, but the trunk or treat was the best. Megan was an olympic gymnast and Christian was the cutest scarecrow you ever saw. Ethan wore these Spiderman pajamas but he was no where to be seen when I was taking pictures. There was a huge blowup haunted house and he pretty much stayed in it until it was time to go outside.

too cute!
This little guy is my precious, sweet baby. Looking at this picture makes me want to squeeze on him and never let go. Hard to imagine he is also the kid giving me gray hairs. Screaming at the top of his lungs to get his way, writing with marker on my brand new walls, destroying every room he walks into, brushing the toilets with all the toothbrushes, hitting, kicking, throwing toys... But then he smiles and says, "I want mommy" while daddy is holding him and I forget all those bad things, because he loves me best! LOL
our own adventure....
For our playgroup last wednesday we were supposed to go to the pumpkin patch at a farm nearby and I really didn't want to go. I looked at the info sheet and it said it was $7/ person. I didn't want to pay that. It was going to be too hard to take 3 kids by myself and I was looking for any way out. Well, we didn't have the cash to go so I was relieved. There was my way out. Well, the little girl I babysit came that morning and her dad handed me a wad of cash and said here is your pay and 10 extra for the pumpkin patch. Well darn it, I guess it was meant to be. I decided to get excited about it and we all talked about how fun it would be to do the hayride, pick out a pumpkin and have a picnic lunch. We got everything ready and got in the car to go. Then I remembered my camera. So I turned around and went and got it. Now I am late. I was worried that the other moms might leave without me so I called one I just KNEW would be going. She said she wasn't going. CRAP! Then she told me everyone else she had talked to wasn't going either. CRAP! Well, I was half way there and the kids really wanted to go so I proceded as planned. When we got to the place there were a MILLION school buses... CRAP! I didn't bring the leashes to keep the kids connected to me. I will write about why we need a leash soon... So I walked in and see a friend. Whew! She tells me they won't let us in. WHAT?!?! You have to be with a school to get in during the week and have a reservation. OMG! I thought about pretending we were part of another preschool, but I don't think lying during a church playgroup would be a good idea LOL! The lady said we could take pictures around the pumpkins and buy one if we want. So that is what we did. Afterwards, we decided to go to a park to eat our picnic lunch. Everyone was hungry and excited. When we sat down at the table the wind blew so hard my huge bag almost blew off the table. There was no way we were going to get to eat outside. We went home. It wasn't a total dud. The kids liked their pumpkins and it was nice to be out of the house. Next year if we want to go to this place, we better have someone get us a reservation or something!!!
happy fall y'all!!
Ethan went on a fieldtrip with his preschool to a pumpkin patch. Jared went along to help out and drive the kids and he took lots of pics for me. The kids are posing so nice with the sun in their eyes with their teacher, Ms. Karen. She is super nice. The kids all had a great time. They went on a hayride, played with bubbles, picked out a pumpkin, and listened to stories a cute old man told.

2016 olympic hopeful!
Megan is having the best time going to her gymnastic competitions. She just went to her third meet and she is doing really well! She didn't compete in the first competition because she just got the cast off her arm. She is getting her confidence back and getting so strong. Her best event is the floor. She has lots of power and precision. I am trying to get a video on here, so check back to see if I figured it out!

I have the heebie jeebies!!!
It is Halloween time and I am so excited. It is so fun to decorate, but I don't want to decorate my house with live spiders! We have killed a brown recluse on our front porch and a black widow on the back of our house. Today the little girl I babysit went outside onto the back porch and she came in real fast and said there was a big spider out there. I looked out there and sure enough, there was a huge spider on the wall. I thought it was a tarantula!! When Jared came home he looked at it and we took pictures of it and looked up tarantulas on the internet. This spider didn't look anything like any species of tarantula. So Jared thought maybe it could be a wolf spider. I looked up wolf spiders but they weren't fuzzy like the one on our wall. The head looked similar. I thought about it and I said maybe it was a mother with babies on her back. I found a link that said wolf spider with babies. It is the last picture in this blog. BINGO! That is what was on my wall! It is so creepy! We didn't know what to do. Of course I wanted it gone. My first instinct was to squash it. That was before I knew there were babies on its back. I just couldn't kill a mom with babies so I told Jared to catch it and take it off our property. He put it in a gladware container. Now, where should we take it???? I had an idea... Jared took it to Megan's school!!! How fun! The office ladies were grossed out and intrigued at the same time. I mean, how often do you encounter a huge spider with hundreds of babies on its back? The ladies said the 5th grade science teacher would love it. I am glad we found a good place for her. I just hope we don't see anymore spiders on our house. YUCK! The third picture down from here, Jared took looking down at the spider and if you enlarge it you can see the spider's eyes and some of the babies eyes! I keep getting the heebie jeebies! EWWW!!!

better watch out!!!
Ethan is taking taekwondo and he loves it! These pictures are from his board breaking class. I never thought he would be able to break boards, but he can! He was the smallest kid to come to the class and he loved being with the bigger boys. He got lots of personal attention from Mr. Duke. He was the first to break the boards and we all loved to watch him. Here are a few more pics of that. It is really hard to get good pictures photgraphing through glass.... At the end he got to keep the boards he broke.

the party
Megan had her 7th birthday party and it was a spa night! We had a total of 4 girls over with their moms. We had such a blast pampering the girls and they loved every moment of it. We started with a "spa like" dinner of croissant sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, and heart shaped cheeses. YUM! Then we had the girls lay down and we put on an avacado-oatmeal mask. They thought that was pretty weird feeling. And what spa facial would be complete without the cucumber slices on your eyes. While the girls laid there with the mask on we rubbed their feet with smelly lotions. Then they went to wash off the mask with the cutest washcloth mittens me and my friend Karalee made. Next we got to paint their toes. So dang cute! We played a right-left game to decide what polish the girls got to keep. I made up a funny story about Megan painting her nails. The girls had a little bit of a hard time knowing which way was right or left LOL! Then we painted their toes and I bought the funnest stickers with bling on them to put on when the polish dried. It was really cool! Megan opened her presents and loved everything she got. Then we had cupcakes. I think I always do cupcakes for parties, they are so easy and cute. The girls finished the night by playing wii. It is so fun!

SO CUTE!
My daughter got a Webkinz for her birthday and last night I helped her get it all set up. I cannot believe how dang cute it is! Everytime we made the little kitten walk around, get on a chair, jump on the trampoline, eat some food, or go to sleep on the cute bed we bought, she and I could be heard from the other side of the house saying, "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" It is seriously the cutest thing ever and now I want one. The husband of the friend who gave us the Webkinz has his own and decked out the room you get with it. I thought that was so funny and now I am going to be hooked, too! I can't wait to go pick one out...... LOL!

Something else to try...
Ok, I guess it is time to get into this blogging stuff since I keep getting links to my friends' blogs. I have no idea if this will work so this blog is just practice.
