Ethan turns FIVE!

Ethan is five. Last month, that is. I am a little late getting things on here. I remember when he was born. Something I won't ever forget... birthing a 9 lb 14 oz baby. Wasn't too easy LOL! Here are some pics from the birth.

So this is what you look like with an almost 10 pound baby inside you!

The big guy. He was so bruised up from my pelvic bone. Poor little baby. I was holding him and having a sweet moment alone with him and a nurse came in and she looked at him and grabbed him away from me and started trying to get him to breathe. I said, what are you doing!? And she said he is turning blue, he must not be breathing. I said, It is a bruise. Oh, she said and handed him back to me. Oh ya and I also noticed about this time that Ethan has webbed toes on his right foot just like his daddy LOL!

Ethan's family party. We had fun. Ethan liked his balloons and cupcakes.

Guess what his favorite present was, a lightsaber. He loves Star Wars! And now Indiana Jones and Iron Man.

Ethan also graduated from preschool at the end of May. He had a great time during the year and learned a lot of social skills. He loved his teacher, Ms Karen. She was the greatest.

Happy Mother's Day from Ethan

Ethan brought home a present from preschool that he made me for mother's day. It was a cute wooden frame he decorated and inside is the picture here. Along with the gift was a card. Here is what it said inside...

Happy Mother's Day

My mother's name is Melissa.
My mother is 6 years old.
My mother has brown hair.
My mother weighs 6 pounds. (LOL not even at birth)

My mother's favorite...
television show: Spiderman
store: walmart
color: pink
food: crabby patty
drink: orange soda
place to eat: chick-fil-a

If I could buy my mom anything in the whole, wide world for mother's day, I would buy her an orange soda.

I love you, Mom!!! ETHAN

LOL I was cracking up. He got a few things right. I am saving this forever. He is such a fun kid to have.

Ethan's thoughts

Friday we had some scary weather and the tornado alarms went off. I got blankets and piled the kids in the closet and I watched out the window. Ethan came out of the closet and asked me, "Is a volcano coming, mom?" I laughed so hard. It was a great comic relief in a stressful situation.

My friend, Heather, came to visit Friday and she brought my kids these little rubbery toys that you put in water and they grow. Ethan picked the dinosaur one. Heather told him that the next day when he looked at it, it would be bigger and even bigger the next day. Later Ethan asked me if dinosaurs were mean. I told him that some were mean. Then he said really worried, "I don't want my dinosaur to grow!" I told him it wouldn't grow that big and then he said in a very disappointed way, "But I want to ride on its back!" So funny the way kids think.

new addition to the family... rodent size

Megan has been doing such a great job cleaning her room, making her bed, and getting great report cards. We decided to reward her with a hamster. She has been wanting one for ever and we just didn't want to get one. Last night we picked her up from gymnastics and took her to petsmart. She held a chinese dwarf hamster and it kept jumping right out of her hands, it was so tiny. The guy told us those kind were good about not biting, but they were fast. Megan liked the winter white ones, but he said they are bad about biting. She wanted to hold one anyway. He got one out and it was so calm and it didn't bite her or the guy so he is the one we got. We didn't name him yet, I told Megan to get to know him a little bit first. I am sure the name will be corny. The hamster hasn't stopped running around. He loves the wheel. It is so fun to watch him.

first pictures!

We had an ultrasound yesterday and everything looks great! It was fun to see the little baby, he/she was wiggling around a lot and the dr thought it had the hiccups. How fun! I love to hear the heart beat, too. Then the dr said something that did not make me happy. He showed us this little thing off the bottom of the baby, he said it was the fetal phallus and it would become the girl part or the boy part. He said the way it looked, it was probably going to be a BOY!!!! NO!!! I didn't want to hear that. I want a girl too bad! I will be super depressed if we have another boy. I hope he is wrong. We will see in June. I am going to pretend he didn't say any of that LOL!
